Hitotsubashi University launched a mentoring program for researchers and graduate students in September 2014 as part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Program to Supporting Research Activities of Female Researchers. As a kick-off event, the “Hitotsubashi University Mentoring Workshop – Mentoring for Women in Universities” was held on September 29, 2014.

Mentoring is a form of personal development, support and assistance. The person providing the help is called a mentor, while the person receiving the help is known as a mentee.

The September 29, 2014 workshop was the first trial event, so a group mentoring session was held at the same time as introducing the new program. Going forward, small group mentoring sessions are planned to be held during lunch time. We invite everyone to attend.

Information about the lunchtime group mentoring session

Based on requests from participants in the mentoring workshop, we plan on regularly organizing small group mentoring sessions during lunchtime that are more approachable and enjoyable.

These sessions will be held bimonthly from 12:00am to 1:30pm at the Gender Equality Promotion Office (7F, Room 710, Research Building No. 2, West Campus). In addition to mentoring, we also hold lunch time seminars led by specialists based on certain themes (balancing childcare and research, etc.).

*Please bring your own lunch to the event.

Feel free to join in together with your friends or colleagues. Mentoring sessions are for Hitotsubashi University researchers , students and staff.

*Once specific dates and times have been set for the lunch time seminars, we will include this information in the application form.
